CIVIL War Confederate Lynchburg Virgina John Warwick Daniel 1890
John Warwick Daniel served with 27th Virginia, was wounded in action at Bull Run, then served w the 11tth Virginia, rising to the rank of Adjutant and became an officer on the staff of General Jubal A. Early, serving with him at the Battle of Gettysburg. In May 1864 his leg was shattered by a minie ball, and he resigned his commission, with the sobriquet "The Lame Lion of Lynchburg". Postwar authored "The Character of Stonewall Jackson", and served in the US Senate. An Original ink signed calling card dated 1889 in his hand and signed as US Senator.
