Maurice Langhorne of Montgomery County, Virginia. Responding on the back of the document to the colonel's claim are Major Isaac Shelby, Chief of Commissary of General John Echols staff and Captain J.

Shular, Commissary in Christiansburg, Virginia. Major Shelby served with General Echols to the very end, surrendering with him at Greensboro, North Carolina on April 30, 1865. Shelby was assigned to General Simon B.

Buckner in the west before being assigned to Echols and was assigned to General John C. Breckinridge for a time in 1865 before returning to Echols staff. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of history and a must have for any Confederate or Civil War collection.
