Civil War General Butler 19th American Folk Portrait Bust Wood Carving 15

  

I'm not really sure who this is, he is reminiscent of general Butler and also a Kaiser Hildenbrand. This is a very good quality depiction on very nice wood, with a very nice frame. This was not cheap when it was created and he must have been someone of some measure. The darkening on his nose has been rubbed off but it is not chipped and the rest is in good condition given age. He is striking and will be a standout for anyone's collection.

About 15 in x 12. It is two pieces of wood the black outer frame and his carving.
