Most famous General Order from this bound set is General Order No. 1 announcing the Abolition of Slavery. Also includes General Order No. 55 providing for National Cemeteries, plus General Orders No.

71 and 92 which detail post-Civil War promotions. A quick glance of General Army personnel listed in General Order No. 71 includes Grant, Sherman, Rosecrans, Hooker, Doubleday, Crook, Emery, Custer, Warren plus hundreds more. 92 creates two additional regiments of Cavalry, the 7th and 8th with George A.
