Parke Civil War Autograph AUTHENTIC + Original Engraving Vicksburg Rare! A beautiful letter penned by Major General John Grubb Parke. The ink is very bold and one one half of the paper. I'm not able to transcribe the letter. Letter head is from the Office of the Chief of Engineers Washington D. The back of the letter has remnants of a former collector who who either mounted it or more likely kept in in a scrap book considering the ink looks like it was put down 10 years ago not 142 years ago. The engraving is in very good condition considering the age.

The engraving measures 6 3/4" X 9 3/4". A great survivor and would look fantastic framed with the letter. Major General Parke was an outstanding General and though he served with the cautious Burnside, he managed to break through and make his own name. He was at major battles such as Antietam, Vicksburg, and Fredericksburg. 100% authentic and a fine example of his signature.
