
John Grubb Parke [1827 1900] was a United States Army Union general in the American Civil War. General Parke served as chief of staff with General Ambrose E. Burnside in major engagements including, Antietam, Fredericksburg and the Overland Campaign as well as the North Carolina Expedition, Vicksburg and the Battle of Fort Stedman.
General Parke also served briefly as the commander of the Army of the Potomac and was later appointed as the Superintendent of the United States Military Academy. The autograph signed''John G.Parke Maj Genl Commanding xx corps'' in black fountain pen. The page measures 5.00 x 2.25 inches, it has trivial toning otherwise in fine condition and affixed to a larger page. The autograph is authentic, part of a Civil War collection we acquired, removed from the above book.
