John G. Parke Civil War Union Major General Autograph, Chief of Staff Burnside

  

John Grubb Parke [1827 1900] was a United States Army Union general in the American Civil War. General Parke served as chief of staff with General Ambrose E. Burnside in major engagements including, Antietam, Fredericksburg and the Overland Campaign as well as the North Carolina Expedition, Vicksburg and the Battle of Fort Stedman.

General Parke also served briefly as the commander of the Army of the Potomac and was later appointed as the Superintendent of the United States Military Academy. The autograph signed''John G.
