Engineers Manual owned by Brevet Brig. General Andrew Hickenlooper Civil War. He recruited men for the 5th Ohio Independent Battery also known as Hickenloopers Battery. He also gained fame for defending the Hornets Nest at Shiloh. For his gallantry at Vicksburg, they erected a statue on the battlefield to honor him.

This manual was presented to him while he was a Major and chief of artillery for the Army of Tennessee at Corinth in 1862. He also signed the manual on the title page with name and rank of chief engineer.

The manual is fully complete. The covers are attached but are fragile.

The spine covering is gone. With that said, Civil War Engineers manuals are extremely rare.
