Civil War KIA General William "Grumble" Jones Requisition Document Twice Signed! Offered today is a very nice twice signed War-Date requisition document by killed in action Confederate General William Grumble Jones. This document was filled out in the field covering a portion of the month of August of 1862.
The entire document besides the received portion, is filled out in the hand of Grumble Jones. This document dates from his time as a Colonel of the 7th Virginia cavalry.
Jones was notorious for sparring with his superiors, especially Jeb Stuart. He had the respect of Robert E. Lee and was a more than capable commander. Items signed by him are fairly scarce, his pre-war items being the most readily available. I've provided photos showing the document is secured in the framing by photo corners, so no damage to the document in the framing process. Please let me know if you have any questions, thank you. All reasonable offers will be considered. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Militaria\Civil War (1861-65)\Original Period Items\Documents".
