This is an item that was held by, read and cared for before, during and after the Civil War by a Confederate General. Very rare 1836 copy of A Concise System of Instructions and Regulations for the Militia and Volunteers of the United States. This copy was in the library of and owned by Maryland Confederate General George H.
Stuart, and he has applied his bookplate. An original CDV photo of Stuart is also included with the book. Great condition although the front cover has come loose.A nice repair opportunity with real upside!
