Hunt remained as Chief of Artillery until 1864 when he took command of all operations at Petersburg in Virginia under U. This ink signature of Henry Hunt is in Hunt's hand while the rest was most likely written by an adjutant who penned the document and then left a space for Hunt to sign as was customary. This one is in very good condition and would have been signed after the Civil War when Hunt became a Colonel in the regular army. It measures 5 inches by 2 inches.
