A great signature and so very bold, would make a handsome display in a frame! He was the Union's Cavalry Man! This is a fine bold example of Major General Philip Sheridan of the Union army and one of the most famous and unlike many Generals, void of controversy. Got the job done with his Cavalry talent. He would then take his talent out West in the fight to win the West in the Indian Wars.
Beautiful signature and the paper really has a nice tint of brown to contrast the black pen. He inscribes below as he typically does "Lieutenant General". If you don't have him, you need him, any Civil War or Old West collector that doesn't have him would make a perfect gift for that person! Like I said, I guarantee they will pass.
