This is a scarce, complete, 9-volume book set protected in clear, acid-free, Mylar dust jackets. The books are loaded with history and official reports related to the roll of Illinois in the Civil War, Black Hawk War, Mexican War, and Spanish-American War. It focuses on the role the State of Illinois and its soldiers played in these historic events and includes historical sketches from each of its units from the time of mobilization and muster into service until muster out. The set contains reports and complete rosters of commissioned officers and enlisted men, organized by unit, with details of the service of each. It includes records of the service of the Illinois Militia, Rangers, and other units as well with infantry, cavalry, artillery, and other units being included.

Regiments Vol IX: Roster of Officers and Enlisted men from Black Hawk, Mexican and Spanish-American Wars THIS BOOK SET IS IN VERY GOOD + CONDITION This original, complete, matching, antique book set is in nice overall condition, but has some exterior wear. All books are protected in clear, acid-free, Mylar dust jackets. The set is bound in tan, cloth covers with black, impressed lettering on the spine. The exteriors generally have some soiling, edge wear and rubbing, but no bumping. A few have small holes to the cloth as shown. The interiors are clean and the pages are in nice condition.

The books all have matching signatures and pasteboard on the front end pages as shown. There is no other writing in the books.

The books have no smudging, foxing or stamps. The interiors are nice, but the exterior are a bit worn.

This is not an ex-library book set. The binding is solid throughout the set; it has no looseness or lean and all hinges are fine.
