General Sheridans Civil War Orginal taxidermy horse & Carraige. Truly incredible find that needs to be put back into a museum or home collection. Was in a museum for most of its life.
Then somehow ended up in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Supposedly owned by general Sheridan who fought at the battle of Winchester. One of 4 horses stuffed in his honor during the civil war 1860s. The taxidermy horse- has a iron backbone with a wooden head and legs interior. The rest in made of tightly strapped straw and burlap. Wagon - oak tilting cannonball wagon reinforced with wrought iron. Appear to be totally untouched condition. The buckles and chains are all hand forged. For being almost 160years old its in good shape. But the horse has some condition issues. The carriage is in excellent shape! Thanks for looking as always.
