This hardcover is a first edition, first printing. Goodwin is among the widely acclaimed American writers, researchers, historians, and storytellers. In Team of Rivals, Goodwin holds nothing back.

She won the 2005 Lincoln Prize for the best writing about the Civil War. Part of Team of Rivals was adapted in the screenplay for Steven Spielberg's film Lincoln. Goodwin bases her book on Lincoln's deep understanding of his past rivals for the presidency. They were angered that a rural lawyer and one-time congressman rose above these experienced politicians.

Is about how Lincoln handles inept generals, congressional enemies, his rambunctious Cabinet and how to win the Civil War. Team of Rivals and the dust jacket are both in very good-plus condition. The book has no handwriting besides Goodwin's signature, no owner's name, no highlighting, no underlining, no water damage, no reminder marks.

Two corners are barely bent. The spine on top is slightly concave. On the dust jacket, there is a 1/16 tear at the bottom of the spine, a few small creases, and some wear on the edges. First Bookshop tries hard to enhance the value of our signed books.

The dust jacket wears a removable, archival cover that helps protect the dust jacket from dirt and spills. We include a photo of Goodwin signing books at the 2018 event in Dallas, where she was promoting. There is also a flyer that details her appearance.
