General Daniel Edgar Sickles [1819 1914] was an American politician, soldier and diplomat. Sickles served as a Senator from New York from 1857 to 1861.
Upon the opening of the Civil War he was appointed as a Brigadier general and was later promoted to Major General. General Sickles commanded at the Peninsula Campaign, the Seven Days Battle, the Battle of Fredericksburg and the Battle of Gettysburg. The autograph is signed''D.Sickles'' in black fountain pen. The card measure 3.50 x 2.25 inches, it has trivial toning otherwise it is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic and will be a desirable addition to any Civil War collection.
