George Grenville Benedict served in the 12th Vermont Infantry, was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions at Gettysburg and was a post-war author of books on Vermont's contribution to the Civil War. His Medal of Honor citation reads Passed through a murderous fire of grape and canister in delivering orders and re-formed the crowded lines. Book in excellent condition, both sides of the spine have some breaks, book very tight, corners rubbed.
