These Epaulets are in excellent condition, especially the. There is only slight wear on the underside of the boards. The metal storage container is in very good condition, but about 40% of the Japan black is worn off. The handwritten period tag on the handle of the container states that the Epaulets belonged to General George Franklin Davis during the Civil War.

General Davis served as Quartermaster General from 1857 through 1863. Accompanying the Epaulets are the following items. Framed 10" X 12" Oval framed picture of Adaline Ida Cobb, General Daviss first Wife.

General Daviss Wallet, containing post War Letters, Bank Statements and misc. A document dated October 23 1860 electing George F Davis Quartermaster General of the State of Vermont.
