Civil War Marblehead, Massachusetts native BF Peach was the son of a founding family and during the War, enlisting in 1861, and rose from the rank from the rank of sergeant to Colonel of the 8th Massachusetts Volunteers. An original Letter from Peach, with brigadier general rank, MVM, at Boston, July 7, 1890 to his old War comrade General Job N Patterson of Concord, New Hampshire inviting him to visit with Peach and his staff in camp at Boston.
