At Jackson, Michigan in 1897. Original Booklet measures about 8" x 6". It is attached INSIDE a "Photomount Pamphlet Binder".
LAST PAGE HAS: This edition of General Withington's paper is printed by Mrs. Withington and dedicated to the classes in American History of Jackson High School. I was able to find Mrs. Julia Withington's obituary online. The General died in 1903 and she lived until 1920. She was very supportive of her husband's service and community projects and lived most of her life in Jackson, Michigan so it is My Opinion that this is an Original publication. ITEM'S HISTORY: I do Not know the actual publication date of the booklet but assuming it may have been around the time it was read which is 1897. Inside back cover is a Photomount Binder label with a patent date of Jan 21, 1908.
Booklet was previously owned by the Michigan State Library with their "Release" stamped on the front cover and "Gift Mich State Lib 11-86" written near spine of first page. Also has a library in Marcellus, Michigan stamping on the front cover. Blacked out label on back exterior cover was put on by Marcellus library. To me, the code numbers on the front cover top by spine look like fountain pen writing. Condition of Actual Bound Booklet: Missing front cover with is now attached to exterior of "Photomount Binder" First page has library stamping and writing. Side edge is taped to the binding. Dedication page edge by spine of has writing (mentioned above) about Gift Mich State Lib 11-86 and a 5-digit code stamped in bottom margin. Condition of Exterior "Photomount Binder": Front cover has paste down of original front cover of booklet. Code numbers on top left cover of front cover appear to be fountain pen writing.Cover has heavy wear with aged top, some spine cover fraying and pieces missing.
