Featured in this CDV image isUnion General Winfield Scott Hancock, most famous for holding the center at Gettysburg, where he was wounded as commander of the 2nd Corps. The reverse features the backmark of E. Anthony of New York, with credit to Mathew Brady's negative.
On the reverse are several pencil notations, along with a 2-cent revenue stamp with 1864 cancellation. Measures about 2 1/2" x 4".
