Large wooden chest personally owned and used by Union General Delos Bennett Sackett during the American Civil War. McClellan during the Peninsula and Maryland Campaigns, and fought at the Battle of Fredericksburg.

LARGE WOODEN CHEST PERSONALLY OWNED AND USED BY UNION GENERAL DELOS BENNET SACKETT DURING THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR. The chest contains remnants of Sacketts identification label on the lid that reads, Gen. Sacke[tt], C[ape] Vincent, Je[fferso]n Cou[nty], New Y[or]k, and his black-stenciled initials D. This chest would have held Sacketts camp accoutrements, including bedding materials and dining sets.

THE CHEST CONTAINS SACKETTS IDENTIFICATION LABEL ON THE LID AND INITIALS ON BOTH SIDES. A historical significant piece used by a high-ranking Union general during the Civil War.
