An original and truly exceptional sword is a Model of 1860 Staff Officer's sword made for a General Officer. The superlative silver grip is deeply cast in intricate designs containing scales of justice, a caduceus, geometric designs and a General Officers star. A General Officers star is also on the gilt knucklebow.The entire hilt is cast in the most intricate manner. The blade is an unusual triple fuller example also etched in intricate geometric designs. It has a French inspector mark of a crow but the letter is not visible. On the underside of the counter guard can be seen the retail mark "EL" with three stars which is mark of importer/retailer E.
