This listing is for a SIGNED document by Civil War General WILLIAM T. SHERMAN framed with a period portrait engraved after the Brady photograph.
The document is written by Sherman in his secretarial hand: W. The period picture and signature by Sherman was put together and framed possibly close to 100 years ago. And yet, the signed document and period illustration (as well as the period matte) are in excellent shape. The expectant yellowing of both documents is the only real sign of aging.
