ORIGINAL Civil War Book Owned By Confederate General Alfred Moore Scales. A great piece of North Carolina history. This book belonged to Alfred Moore Scales. Scales was a civil war confederate general who served in the US Congress from 1857 through 1859 and again from 1875 to 1884. He was governor of North Carolina from 1885 to 1889, and died in Greensboro in 1892. The inside of the book is signed by general scales.
