Letter details the pursuit of the "Swamp Fox" General Jeff Thompson after the Battle of Pea Ridge. It is officially reported that Genl Jeff Thompson with a large party of cavalry & artillery came north from New Madrid, our forces advanced from Brid's Point and cut his forces at Silkeston. He was pursued into the swamps by the cavalry of Gen. Morgan's brigades, & three pieces of artillery captured. Pope pursued the other detachment south capturing three more pieces of artillery, one captain, one Lieut.

& a number of privates. Acquired in 1998 from Gary Hendershott.
