General GK Warren was a notable US Army Engineer who surveyed the Transcontinental Railroad route in the 1850s, discovering the first evidence for the Native American Great Flood lore of Lake Agassiz which inundated Minnesota in 8000 BC. He is also remembered for the Battle of Gettysburg- his statue stands atop Little Round Top where, seeing the strategic importance of the hill, brought up the reinforcements that stopped Longstreet's Advance.
