1 carte de visite of Major General Joseph Hooker. He is in a standing position and holds a sword under his left arm.

Joseph Hooker rose to the rank of Major General in 1863. Prior to the War between the States, he served in the Mexican American War and later in the California militia.

During the Civil War, he earned the nickname "Fighting Joe" Hooker. He later helped Grant win the Battle of Chattanooga. Photographer information from the back of the card: Published by FAHT Anthony's Nat 501 Broadway New York from Photographic Negative in Brady's National Portrait Gallery Condition: All 4 corners clipped.

Some light fading and spotting to the image. The back of the card has some scuffs as if it were placed in a modern photo album.

The General's name and an additional note written on the back of the card. There are indents in the bottom margin from his long ago written name - see the last photo for details.

Please view all photographs and consider them as part of the description.
