PAIR OF COLOREED LITOGRAPHS CIVIL WAR GENERALS ROBERTS LEE & STONEWALL JACKSON. The featured lot consists of pair of chromolithographs depicting the Civil War generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson. The prints were made after real photographs. The portrait of Lee bears the printed statement that it was entered in the Library of Congress in 1870.
It also bears the designation that it was engraved by A. The portrait of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson also bears Walter's name as engraver as well as the statement that it was entered in the Library of Congress in 1871. The pieces measure approximatelly 15 1/2" x 19" with the wooden frames. The prints are matted and put behind protective glass. The visible paper area is about 11" x 14 1/2". The items come in overall good condition for their age. The prints have not been examines outside of their frames. The paper appears to have creases as well as toning and discoloration but not visible rips or tears. No water damages or significant stains founds.Normal wear to the frame like scuffs, marks and scratches. Please, take a look at all of the provided pictures as they are part of the description.
