IT IS ONE OF THE MOST HIGHLY-PRIZED EDITIONS OF THIS COLLECTOR'S ITEM. This is a reproduction of Lee's Lost Orders from the handwritten copy of SPECIAL ORDERS, NO. 191 made by Lee's adjutant. Chileno, and sent to General D. Having already received a copy of the orders from General Stonewall Jackson, a staff member of Hill's, whose name is lost to history, assumed the document was superfluous and appropriated it for wrapping his three cigars. After leaving camp near Frederick, Maryland, on September 10, 1862, the cigars, and orders, were lost. CONDITION: Clamshell and notes are in PRISTINE for their age, which still has the original onion paper wrapper and seal (SEE PICS FOR FURTHER DETAILS). NO ATTACHED BOOKPLATES, WRITING FROM PREVIOUS OWNER, ETC. It is a BEAUTIFUL EDITION.
