1800s Fire Department Sign Engraved Slate Civil War General Folk Art Antique
Antique slate shingle engraved with firemen and a horse-drawn engine. The reverse has an incomplete sketch of a Civil War officer. One hole at top was made with a drill, and two other holes were made with a roofing hammer. A unique and wonderful piece of American folk art.
