1800s Brigadier General Charles King Autographed Signed Cut Civil War, measures 3" x 5 1/4". Although his best known book was Campaigning With Crook (1890), based on his journals with the U. Army's Big Horn and Yellowstone Expeditions of 1876, King generally wrote "military romances" with backdrops of the Western frontiers, the Civil War and the Spanish Philippines.
King, who began his military career during the Civil War, was appointed to West Point by President Abraham Lincoln.
