A West Point graduate, class of 1850, Warren saw action at Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Gettysburg, where he ordered the famed defense of Little Round Top. Warren, B[re]v[e]t Maj[or] Gen[era]l U. On a 3 ¼ x 4 ¼ slip of paper, removed from a larger printed letter, St. Paul, Minnesota, July 16, 1867, regarding subscribers for a KEARNEY STATUE. Lightly toned, with nicks at the lower corners and edges and light horizontal folds at the center; the upper left edge has been clipped diagonally, and is somewhat uneven below.
